In Lussas, the screening of "Soulèvements," about new ecological struggles, invigorates festival-goers

It is a love film, a declaration to all that is precious in nature: trees, cows, mountains, birds, glaciers and let's add water, of course, which was at the center of the action of the Earth Uprisings against the megabasins, in Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres ), on March 25, 2023. After the failed attempt by Gérald Darmanin, then Minister of the Interior, to dissolve this collective born in 2021 , it has continued to broaden its struggles, succeeding more than once in pushing back (at least temporarily) projects deemed deadly – megabasins, A69 motorway, extension of sand pits, etc.
During a screening under the stars on Monday, August 18, Soulèvements , by Thomas Lacoste ( L'Hypothèse démocratique, 2022 ), was presented in Lussas, in Ardèche, at the Etats généraux du film documentaire, which is taking place until August 23. And it is an understatement to say that the spectators were enthusiastic – the film, distributed by Jour2Fête, will be released in February 2026. The director, who remains off-camera, gives voice to a diversity of activists from the Soulèvements de la Terre (sixteen in total), students, farmers, naturalists, etc., to capture their journeys and aspirations.
